Wildcat Family,
Hello! My name is Jason Iles, Principal of Whiteoak JH/HS.I am honored to enter my fourth year as principal, and I am excited about the continued growth/opportunity to serve the students, staff, and community of Bright Local Schools. During my fourteen years in public education, I have been fortunate to experience various roles throughout the educational process. Each of these roles have allowed me to become a better advocate for our students' needs. At the conclusion of each year our district evaluates the students' needs and forever changing requirements set forth by the Ohio Department of Education. These evaluations allow us to make data driven decisions to make the necessary changes to continually improve the instruction and support we offer our students. Exciting changes you will notice as students/families are welcomed back to the building. Our building is filled with freshly sanitized classrooms, waxed floors, new classroom locations, our technology department has upgraded Chromebooks 7th-12th grades, updated 75 inch Interactive Smart Boards, upgraded chairs and desks to the JH classrooms, building upgraded with AC project, extended network connectivity, upgraded art room with Kiln, upgraded technology 3D scanner/3D printer/Laser Engraver. As we are continuing to make investments in our student resources we are excited to see the growth and opportunity for our students. Parents/Students, we have made a transition to FinalForms and we are in need of your participation and promptness completing these forms for compliance and safety of our students.
In addition to our building upgrades and new resources, our building will continue the PBIS system (Positive Behavior Intervention Supports) and provide ALL students SEL (Social and Emotional Learning)standards and education. We have made some staffing changes and are excited to be able to offer CCP (College Credit Plus) courses on campus and also our first ever AP (Advanced Placement) course. One of our main focus areas for the year is to increase daily rigor across all content areas. Our staff participated in COVID Gap Recovery Professional Development over the summer. This will allow us to attack learning gaps our students have suffered.
As we open the year we would like to celebrate our successes for Bright Local Schools. Our entire staff throughout the Bright Local District are responsible for these amazing successes.
