A Letter from the Superintendent
Parents, and Guardians,
As of today, Bright Local Schools anticipates reopening schools on Aug 19th. Our priority is the safe return to school and the health of our students and staff while continuing to provide the best education possible. Be aware that changes occur daily and spikes in the number of COVID 19 cases may cause further changes in our reopening.
Changes we are making to assure the safety of our students and staff include:
Frequent sanitation throughout the day and disinfecting each classroom nightly.
Frequent hand washing throughout the day.
Purchasing of Chromebooks to assist in 1/1 technology for each K-12 student.
Providing virtual options for those who are medically compromised or may not feel comfortable coming to school.
Installation of hand sanitizer stations in both buildings.
Installation of water fill stations to eliminate water fountains.
Altering lunchroom and classroom schedules to aid in distancing.
Creating additional bus routes to aid in distancing (masks are required on the bus).
Eliminating extra furniture within the classroom to provide extra spacing.
Temperatures checks for students and staff throughout the day as part of a symptom check.
Establishing a procedure for contacting parents and isolating students exhibiting symptoms.
Continuing to provide services for Students with Disabilities as mandated by law.
As a School District in the State of Ohio, we will abide by the mask mandate.
As we start the beginning of school, it is very important that we work together for our children. The protection and education of our students far outweigh the barriers.
Together we can do this. We have to!
Michael Bick, Superintendent
