My name is Jeff Rowley, and as Treasurer for the District, I want to welcome you to the Bright Local School District Treasurer's Office. In the Treasurer's Office, we strive to be outstanding stewards of the money entrusted to us by the community and to work to support the excellent work done by the district's educators and administrators, and to meet the goals as established by board. The Treasurer is the chief financial officer of the District, as as such, it is my responsibility to oversee the annual budget and appropriations, depositing of funds, purchasing, processing of payroll, monitoring of fixed assets, investing, and financial reporting, all under the rules and regulations established by the State of Ohio in Ohio Revised Code.
I have been the Treasurer of Bright Local Schools since January 2021, having spent 7 years with RULH schools in Brown County. I received my B.A. in Accounting and Business Management from Wilmington College in 1988. Prior to become a school treasurer, I served as both a field auditor and as an audit manager for the Ohio Auditor of State's Office for over 16 years, and prior to that, I worked 5 years as Assistant Controller for First Federal Savings Bank in Washington Court House, Ohio.
Adjacent to this letter of introduction you will find links to the latest Five Year Forecast filed with the Ohio Department of Education, and searchable annual audit reports of the District on the Ohio Auditor of State web site.
If you have any questions or concerns about the finances of the district, please do not hesitate to contact me or a member of my staff. Thank you for the continued opportunity to serve the students, staff, and residents of this great, hardworking public school District.
