WE NEED YOUR HELP! The current count of donations that have been made at Whiteoak are at 41. That’s only 9 away from earning grant money for the school (see attached document below). This year, Hoxworth is allowing donations to be made at their other donation centers to count towards the grant program. If 9 people would be willing to donate at one of the other centers before May 31st and say they are donating for “Whiteoak HS”, Hoxworth will send a check to the Whiteoak High School.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:2023 - 2024 SCHOOL CALENDAR CHANGEBLSD Staff and Families, We are writing to inform you of a change to the 2023-2024 School Calendar for Bright Local School District. Please be advised that May 22nd, which was initially scheduled to be the very last day of school for students. May 22nd now will serve as a staff In-Service Day. This time will be spent training staff at all levels on new resources, including a new Science of Reading curriculum in grades K-12, along with other curriculum work and professional learning that will better prepare our staff for the 2024-2025 school year. As a result of this change, the last day of school for BLSD students will now be May 21st, 2024. We understand that this adjustment may cause inconvenience for some families and we sincerely apologize for any disruption this may cause to your plans. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we strive to provide the best education and support for our students and staff. Additional communication will be sent to staff and families from the building level to share how the changes may specifically impact building / classroom activities. If you have not submitted a meal application this school year but feel you may qualify for free or reduced price meals please complete the meal application! If you need an application, please call Debbie Robertson at 937-927-7010.To receive the first Summer EBT payment you must have submitted your meal application by May 15th.First payments are expected to be released the last week in June and each child will receive one payment of $120. The payments will be applied to your SNAP benefits card if you have one. If you do not have a SNAP benefit card a S-EBT card will be issued to you. Please make sure if you have had an address change that you contact the district office secretary at 937-442-3114 to update your information before school lets out for summer.
