Covid Guidelines for Bright Local Schools 2022-2023 School Year

As we enter into the 22-23 school year the safety and health of our students are of the utmost importance to us. Starting this school year, the CDC has released new guidelines for COVID-19.

  • If you are sick, STAY HOME! If you test positive you should isolate yourself at home for at least 5 days.

  • If after 5 days you are fever free for 24 hours without the use of medication, and your symptoms are improving, or you never experienced symptoms, you may end isolation after day 5.

  • You should wear a high-quality mask through day 10

ABSENCE FROM SCHOOL:

  • Students who are absent from school due to Covid must provide appropriate documentation of illness.

    • Medical Note from Doctor or medical office.

    • Screen shot photo of the home administered positive COVID test including the name of the student and the date of the test sent to the school.

  • Students who are absent due to exposure or close contact will be counted as unexcused absence.

EXPOSURE TO COVID:

  • Contact tracing and quarantine for close contacts is no longer recommended for those exposed to COVID. Due to the fact that the vaccine is widely available to all age groups, medication for COVID is readily available, testing access has improved and vaccine-induced ad infection-induced immunity exists in large portions of our country.

  • The CDC recommends that instead of quarantining for exposure to COVID you wear a high quality mask for 10 days, monitor for symptoms and get tested on day 5.
